Who's the man ;)
1. Germain
Germain Raalte, born in 1973 in The Hague and grew up in the Eighties on the beautiful Island of Texel. When I was twenty I went to Amsterdam and I still live there.
After studying HTS construction & Architecture. I worked at Wilma / BAM for eight years, where I ran projects with large and renowned Dutch architectural firms. At that time I discovered my love for architecture and interior

2. Building Fashion
I found the specific combination of architecture and interior design at fashion company G-Star, which at the time began its impressive international rollout. From 2004 to 2012
I traveled around the world as a senior interior design & construction project manager to set up stores, offices and showrooms for G-Star. In 2012 I became Global Manager at Scotch & Soda as Global Manager here I led and managed a large team of concept designers, interior designers and project managers of construction, and was involved in the procurement of external teams. I traveled from the US, Mexico to Chile, from the Middle East to Russia, from China to Australia, and of course throughout Europe, and learned to switch quickly between different disciplines and expectations.

3. Our man in Sydney...

Working in so many different countries and with so many different cultures has brought me a wealth of knowledge and experience, and last but not least, a large and dear network. I thought it was great to be there and help iconic Dutch brands around the world put down something that had never been shown before. But, after 12 years of living out of a suitcase, I wanted to be home more often and travel a little less and spend more time with family and friends.
After all those years I wanted to create more diversity in my work. I do this by taking on a variety of own projects; retail, offices & hospitality, you name it! Those are the things in which I can combine my passion for construction & interior from A to Z.
“Around The Corner was born”.
